This semester-long workshop looked at tools for the projection of domestic life. It investigated the art of seeing and the art of constructing what has been seen. In three exercises, the students build machines to improve perceptions in order to know how to build better. After extracting all the useful poetic or scientific data for their project, they imagined an installation consisting of an immersive machine that would act on the represented object and also on the subject-object relationship. The latter exercise concluded the semester with an exhibition of the students’ work in the office of YKRA, a Geneva-based firm of architects.
