Valentin Calame

Valentin Calame is an architect based in Geneva. He serves as a teaching assistant in the Interior Architecture Department at HEAD – Genève, works as an architect at the DGAA design office in Geneva, and is the co-founder of, habitat expérimental et atelier ouvert.

Calame graduated as an architect from EPFL in 2019. In 2021, he earned a Master of Advanced Studies in Design Research for Digital Innovation at ECAL. His professional experience includes working as an architect at Cigüe in Paris and as a design researcher at the EPFL+ECAL lab. Notably, his research project in collaboration with the Swiss National Library received awards in various categories, such as Best Creative Project, Best Project of Public Value, Best User Experience, and Best Innovative Project. His research has primarily focused on exploring the potential of digital technology to create new narratives for virtual exhibitions.

Since 2021, Calame has been dedicated to developing innovative digital building design methods that bridge the physical and digital environments. He recently received the laureate of Lausanne Jardins 2024 for a project addressing urban environmental issues in the face of global warming.
