Endrias Abeyi

Endrias Abeyi was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and arrived in Geneva at the age of 10. He obtained his CFC as an interior designer at the Geneva School of Decorative Arts, then continued his studies at HEAD in the Interior Architecture Department where he obtained his Diploma. He was the first student to build a bridge between HEAD and the Geneva School of Engineering. He passed the bridge year and completed his training with a Master of Arts BFH/ HES-SO in Architecture. He worked for interior designer Michel Buri on projects for art galleries and apartment renovations.

At the end of his studies, he produced an Atlas of Apartment Typologies for the Housing Office (LOL) in conjunction with architect Bonhôt Zapatta, analysing living spaces with all measurable parameters. He worked with the FOJ, the official youth foundation, for 6 months where he taught children the importance of sketching and drawing to make ideas come true but above all, to express them. He moved to New York for two years, where he worked on construction sites to get a close-up experience of material and develop his drawing and sketching practice, which continues to feed his work. Since 2015, he has been working for Christian Dupraz Architects on contemporary issues: transformation and elevation with the necessary sensitivity. At the same time, he works as an expert and teacher at the CFPA for interior architecture designers.
