INTERIOR ECOLOGIES LECTURE: LUKE JONES

The lecture “Carbon Futures” will be a discussion of recent work on design research and environmental transformation. The lecture will explore scale and futurism, narrative scenarios and the space of possibility for design practice in a long and uncertain future, through projects which attempt to explore questions of materiality, expression and the internalisation of environmental impact or commitment.

Luke Jones is an architect, writer and design researcher. He is a partner at the design and ecology practice Heat Island. Recent projects in the field of ecological futures include Materiality After Extraction, Carbon Tectonic and Fluxopia, produced at Non Extractive Architecture in Venice and the Strelka Institute. He writes science fictional comic books with his partner Anna Mill and hosts the podcast About Buildings and Cities.
