The MAIA program (Master of Interior Architecture, HEAD – Genève) invite you to a series of conferences, called Creative Industries. They are held by established professionals and seek to give access to skills that can be useful in a career as an interior architect.

Katrin Eckert (1968, Germany) is Head of Planning international at USM U. Schärer Söhne AG in Münsingen. She is responsible for concept development, furniture design and interior design of all types of living, working and retail environments.

As an architect and carpenter, she has over 20 years of experience in both the planning and implementation of buildings, rooms and furniture in the public, private and retail sectors. After her diploma in architecture, she worked for more than 10 years in Munich in various architectural offices as a freelance architect as well as independently and has supervised numerous architectural projects from design to completion. Since 2010 she is living in Basel and has specialized in the retail sector by managing the architectural departments of large international brands such as the fashion brand Tally Weijl, the iconic watch brand Swatch and now for over 3 years the planning department of the furniture manufacturer USM U. Schärer Söhne AG.

2019 Katrin was jury member of the “pavillon workplace” a competition of ideas for architects, designers and students, with the aim of reflecting upon workspaces in the setting of the Mies van der Rohe Pavillon in Barcelona. She is a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Architects and the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA).
