TAKK is an architecture and design studio based in Barcelona and New York, founded by Mireia Luzárragaand Alejandro Muiño. The studio’s work critically engages with the integration of ecological frameworks into architectural discourse and spatial production, aiming to develop new material and political imaginaries for the built environment.
TAKK operates at the intersection of professional practice and academic research. Mireia Luzárraga is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Core I sequence at Columbia University GSAPP. They were Studio critic for SEKISUI HOUSE-KUMA LAB at the University of Tokyo in 2024, and Master Tutor at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) in Barcelona from 2018 to 2022.
They are the editors of 100 Words for Water, a book published by Lars Müller Publishers that brings together more than one hundred expert voices—including philosophers, architects, activists, and scientists—to create a conceptual toolkit aimed at reformulating our relationship with water amid growing ecological urgency.
In 2025, they served as the curators of the Catalan Pavilion at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia.
TAKK’s work has received numerous accolades, including the the FAD Awards (2025 and 2023) Design Vanguard Award (2024), the Best Archilover Project Award (2023), the COAM Award (2022), and the Temps de les Arts Award (2022). They have also been finalists in the ArchDaily Building of the Year Awards (2024), the XII Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism, the ROOM Awards (2023), and the FAD Awards (2019).
