Irma Cilacian Gandolfi

Irma Cilacian lives and works in Geneva. She obtained her Master’s degree in architecture from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 1999.

In 2001, she was appointed as Assistant to the EPFL Architecture Section. She coordinated the inclusion of architecture at the Ecublens site, and participated in the reorganization of the School into Faculties. She was responsible for the Architecture Department’s visibility in Switzerland and abroad, student academic affairs, training and the curriculum. At the same time, she worked on a Master’s degree in architecture.

From 2004 to 2009, she was an EPFL project assistant for the workshops of Professors V. Mangeat and L. Ortelli on architectural projects and theory for 1st year students on the themes of habitation, museum spaces, territorial architecture and urban development using Low Rise/High Density. In 2008, she set up the Gandolfi + Cilacian Architects EPFL SIA studio with Matteo Gandolfi, and since then has been dedicated to architectural practice with public and private commissions in all areas of architecture, from events to housing. Since 2010 she has also been involved with HEAD on architecture theory and teaching at workshops, as a jury member on Bachelor projects and the Structures course for future interior architects.
